Welcome to the official website of the Niagara Hindu Samaj and the Shiv Mandir, Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Niagara Hindu Samaj is the premier organization representing Hindus and Jains in the Niagara Region. Our website provides information on upcoming events and on-going programs organized by the Samaj at the Shiv Mandir and elsewhere.

Mark your calendars for Sunday April 9, 2017 as we celebrate Shri Mahavir Jayanti, dedicated to the veneration of Bhagwan Mahavir. The event is sponsored by the Jain families of Niagara.

Bhagwan Shri Mahavir is the twenty-fourth (and last) of the great Jain tirthankars or spiritual guides. He was responsible for enunciating the fundamental Jain concepts of Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya and Aparigraha. His birth will be celebrated at the Shiv Mandir as follows:

Jain puja at 9:30 AM, Sunday April 9.

Jain puja at 3:00 PM, followed by bhajan satsang, aarti and preetibhoj, Sunday April 9.

 Everyone is welcome!

Bhagwan Shri Hanuman is the embodiment of pure devotion. Come to the Shiv Mandir on Sunday April 16 at 3 PM to celebrate His birth!

Shri Hanuman Jayanti celebrates the advent of Bhagwan Shri Hanuman, who is considered to be an avatar of Bhagwan Shivji. We are celebrating this auspicious occasion at the Shiv Mandir on Sunday April 16 with a special bhajan satsang dedicated to Hanumanji. Aarati at 5:30 PM will be followed by preetihoj. Everyone is welcome!

We are looking for devotees to sponsor this special Sunday bhajan satsang dedicated to Hanumanji, the divine devotee of Bhagwan Shri Ram. Click here to sponsor this wonderful event.

Please note that this celebration was originally scheduled for Tuesday April 11. While Shri Hanuman Vandana will take place that evening from 5 PM, the special celebration of Shri Hanuman Jayanti will take place on Sunday April 16 rather than on Tuesday April 11.
